What a big day!

Today (4/7 HKT) is the day for the A-Level students to get their results. Of course, I am not a A-Level student or in any way connected to A-Level Exam. But, there are quite a few of my friends, who are taking A-Level Exam this year, and I decided to get back to my home school to see how things are, while see itself as a gathering for my peers.

The first special thing that I must mention is to get up early enough. Why? Simply because I would have to get back to school around 0830-0845 if I am to get the first-hand information myself, just like what a reporter does. But, I am totally disappointed when I saw things myself. I didn't see anybody running out from the room jubilantly, while I tried to have a glance at the faces of my juniors and mates through the window, I began to know, and realise that my mother school is not doing good this year.

I exchanged a few chats with one of my favourite teacher, and he shown me the paper which had every stat printed, and he just briefly told me that the rate of Credit is only 20+%, compared to my own year of 40-50+%. This was not the most scarry thing for me. It was when I entered the room, chatted with a few whom I knew, I began to find that they failed in either of the language subjects, while they were not doing too well in the A-Level subjects as well. They were calm, of course disappionted, and I didn't know what to do. Why? What else can I do except helping them to feel better? I could do exactly nothing, only encouraging them to try about other means to obtain further education instead of through the A-Level Exam, as they would surely suffer from the scheme that allowed S6 students to enter universities directly, as they were already the less competitive group.

But another thing that I was surprised about Arts Class, being an Arts student myself, is that the best student only got 2As while the second best, up to my knowledge, is already something like 3Bs. Okay, I may not have to right to criticise any people as I just got a bare result (Ask me for those who don't know that), but I was shocked and disappointed to know that the bext only got 2As, while I might have the hope to see him having the ability to do better. But for this bit, there is no way to deny my disappointment.

I've got to congratulate a good friend of mine whom repeated his S6. He got a fair result, which I think he might not be truly represented by the results, but at least he would not have to trouble himself on the problem to think about repeat again, while have the assurance to start the way ahead. While for a few friends of mine who decided to repeat S7 after last year's A-Level, they were also doing quite well in the Exam. There are no other things I can do here except to congratulate them and wish them to enter the courses they would like to start in their university life.

Today's not always the A-Level occupied, as well as being a gathering for my peers. At first, there were only 2-3 people, including myself, suggested to come back to the home school to see how things are as well as visiting teachers and other people whom we knew. And by yesterday night, I could only find around 4-5, without great progress right? But, maybe we haven't seen each other for a long time, and we do really treasure our friendships, probably having more and more people knowing about it, and finally got 11 people turning up for the lunch in Kowloon City, after visiting home school.

I am not just delighted, but flattered and overjoyed to see so many people together. I was very lazy in calling up re-unions, and last year, while I was away from Hong Kong for almost two months, they said nobody would be able to have a gathering of more than 7 people. But this time, 11, and it's already a year after we obtained our results, we still stayed together. This moves me a lot, and motivates me to do a bit more in setting up gatherings. I would get the photo up to my web album later on, but I would surely do that as soon as the photos were developed.
