Wow~~

Loads of things happened these few days, but I'd better talk about my new good friend. My new good friend is not a person, but a good racket. I was just surprised to know that this re-designed racket (Carbonex 20 Special) is so light and powerful. I was caught surprised by the racket for its power when hitting the shuttlecock, and actually it was out of the court. Its sounds are quite funny, but one can be quite sure that the racket is a good one by hearing its sounds. And after felt familiar with my new friend, I returned to my old racket, and it was soooo heavy, and the strings were not too powerful as well.

I don't want to spend too much money on getting a good replacement racket, but a good badminton player would never just got one racket that is good enough. I have no idea what I should do, maybe I should retain this racket, but probably got it re-stringed so as to make it a better racket. I think it is not necessary to say which racket I would be using in the test of 14th, right?

The other thing which is worthy of mentioning surely the coming deadlines of politika, the annual journal of PPAA. There are not too much I can say about it as it just means that there are tonnes of things to do for making it to be published. I am not very confident that things would be okay by November, but this is the thing that I will surely strive for, and hope that I can turn things around, with the assistance from my jong-mates.

Not too much other things worthy of mentioning......
See this bit~

Let me write a bit about yesterday....

The most significant part of yesterday was farewelling one of my father's friend, who would be migrating back to Indonesia and start his new life there. I would not write much about his miserable stories during his time in Hong Kong, as it would take a million years to finish that. I felt I knew him far too late, only until the very last moment, that I finally got a chance to talk to him, and discovered that he was amongst one of the best of my father's friend. There were lots of things that we chatted about, from sports to living space, and heard him talked a lot about his life and his past. And from the example set by my father and his freind, I knew much more about "what is a true friendship?"

There are some questions that keep staying in my mind on things and people around me, and some of them tried to persuade me that friends need not always speak to heart. Sometimes hearty things might not be spoken just for other reasons, but I would definitely not to choose to be friends of those people whom I cannot talk to with my heart. Why? The reason should be understandable as easy as pie.

Their friendship has covered the past FOUR decades, and it would last. They have experienced things together, and met different difficulties together from the start. Maybe I just lacked similar bonding with people around me, which I would say it is my fault. But there are just something always out of my control, which make things really difficult.....

But anyway....
Let me calm down a bit and start my Swedish Class some twenty minutes later la~~

Hmm~~

Today's not a bad day in quite a few ways. First, I resumed Swedish Class, and I am totally shocked to see that my fellow classmates, with the few exceptions who studied Swedish for the whole year like myself did, are very hard-working, and totally out of my estimation. And I realised that the word that I mostly use in today's class is obviously, coz obviously I had forgotten most Swedish I learnt. And "obviously" the only thing that I can do would be to restart my efforts on Swedish, and work much much harder to catch up with the progress of my classmates.

After the class, I went back to my little place, and before going upstairs, I decided that it is a good day to get the new racket, and so I make it. I don't trouble to write too much about the new racket as you guys can see photos of it at , (please let me know if you guys cannot see the photos or the links), so I don't bother to say too much about the racket. Anyway, I am very satisfied with it, and the services I have got when I bought the racket, as the shop-keeper is really nice in giving me guidance to choose the strings, and is really quick in making the racket available before 1530, the scheduled time....Hope I can start the racket with a good match, though I know that it would take some time for me to familiarise myself with the new friend....

Booked a 2-hour session of badminton on Thursday with a good friend, don't know how would the match go as I will be using my new racket for the first time, hope it be a good one, at least making some progress to be a friend of my racket. Later on called him out to join me visiting the new campus of Ying Wa College. The new campus doesn't look too ready for the new academic year starting from September 1, as there are still a lot works going around, and some parts, even including the hall, is not yet ready for the briefing session on the day after tomorrow. Just can hope things can be well and ready to go on September 1, and Ying Wa starts flying again in Shum Shui Po new campus.

Poor me...
I missed my first Swedish Class just out of forgetfulness, because I just knew that it would commence today, yet never the time. So I thought it would already be great for me to check with Language Centre around noon. But the bad news is that the class had already begun at 10, so I was just left with an hour, while I have to meet the group son and daughters, and so forget it for the time being. I promise myself would be back for the lesson tomorrow.

Very grateful to see my group son and daughters, and heard them talking about other O'camps for those who had joined, and I am very delighted to hear that most of them regard our camp as the best, though a little bit exhausting. They also paid tributes to us as group dads and moms for encouarging them to try their best, sometimes even took the lead to set an example for them. Almost all my son and daughters chose the same classes if they could, and I think this is the only way to make things better for the freshmen of the coming year, and my role is to help them to feel together instead of a few small groups....This is the thing that I would try.

Met the parent of a friend late in the evening, as I handed something to him and he helped them to finance the things through. I feel quite bad at knowing that my friend's mother is still jobless, and things are quite hard as the unemployment rate soars. I can do really little to help, but just hope that she would be able to find a job as soon as possible la......

Went to a little window-shopping at Plaza Hollywood after that, still gathering information to help me deciding which racket I should get. And luckily, I got a catalog in hand right now, so I can spend some time to discuss with the shop-keeper whom I have mentioned in the previous entry, and I think I would ask about the differences between two rackets of the same series of Carbonex, both of them being Special.....maybe it would take some more time before I get one, but it shouldn't take long.

P.S.: Scott, thanks for helping us in the O'Camp, and it's a delight to know you, hope you will enjoy your year in Canada, and good luck~

Currently busying in finding a good badminton racket for myself. I am now considering a racket of an evergreen series called Carbonex from Yonex. But it is only now that I know that there is a great deal of things to learn even in regard of rackets. I know nothing about how to choose a racket, as it would heavily depend on the playing style of the player before one can decide what rackets would suit him/her.

As I am now just switching from an amateur to a more professional style of playing, it would be necessary for me to get a good racket. And it would be very important for me to get a balanced racket, and I got an advice from a shop-keeper who's very keen to help me, that Carbonex 20, though a very old series of rackets, is still very popular in the market. Carbonex is also excellent for people who are trying to identify their styles, thus needing a racket with balanced properties.

I began to inquire about price things at this time, and with strings, the price is still just lower than $600, and it's a bargain when compared with rackets available at a large chain store, but at a high price, while I am not sure about the properties of the strings, which may not fit in my playing style....

Finally decided, so better save a little money before I got it lor....

Yesterday night's dinner was also excellent, and it is so happy to see so many classmates gather together, farewell to Queenie, Valentina and Yvonne, who would be leaving us for a year on exchange at Southampton, Nottingham and Amsterdam respectively. Wish them all the best, and see you guys later la.....
